President of Prince University Consulting Services

Mr. Bin Shiguo’s interest in China originated from his college years. While studying history at Davidson University in the United States, he took a course on the history of modern Chinese culture. The teacher at the time was a visiting professor from Beijing. Under the professor’s enlightenment and guidance, the young Mr. Bin began to have an infinite yearning for the profound and long-standing Chinese culture. After graduating from Davidson University, he immediately worked as a history teacher at the private Keffer High School, and then went to the University of Pennsylvania to continue his studies and obtained a master’s degree in higher education management.

Mr. Bin served as the principal of the high school department and history teacher at the private Columbus School in Ohio. During his tenure, he assisted in planning the history teaching subjects for the ninth grade and added a large amount of course content related to modern Chinese history. In addition, Mr. Bin fully supported the school’s teacher Dong Kaier in creating the Chinese language teaching program in the high school department and establishing the East Asian Cultural Exchange Center. Mr. Bin and Teacher Dong also led a group of teachers and students to Hefei, Anhui Province to carry out Sino-US cultural and academic exchange activities.

A few years later, Mr. Bing was hired as the principal of the private Collier School in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Bing has always been passionate about and supportive of Chinese culture. During his tenure, he actively promoted Chinese language teaching projects and applied to open Confucius Classrooms to promote Chinese culture. In just a few years, the school became the only school in Kentucky that provides continuous Chinese teaching from sixth to twelfth grade.

In 2005, Mr. Bin, on behalf of the Collier School, signed a memorandum of understanding with the Jiujiang Education Bureau and Jiujiang Experimental Middle School in Jiangxi Province, opening up a new field of international educational exchange and cooperation between Louisville and Jiujiang as sister cities. In order to deepen the friendly cooperation between the two cities, the Collier School also set up a full scholarship to select an outstanding high school student from Jiujiang to study at the Collier School every year.

In his exchanges with the education community in Hefei and Jiujiang, Mr. Bin met many Chinese students and friends in the education community. He is happy to help Chinese students and families understand the application process for American universities. After retiring as president, Mr. Bin founded Prince American University Consulting Services . The company not only assists American students in applying for universities, but also provides consulting services for Chinese students studying in the United States.

In recent years, in addition to his work in American university consulting and tutoring, Mr. Bin has also volunteered to help promote the Sister Cities Young Scholars Scholarship Program, which was founded by Dr. Weibin Zeng, a professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Louisville. Dr. Zeng has served as the chairman of the Louisville Sister Cities Friendship Committee and has spared no effort to promote cultural exchanges between China and the United States. The Young Scholars Scholarship Program provides scholarships to study in the United States, funding outstanding students selected from Jiujiang City and Chengdu City to study abroad at the University of Louisville, Hanover University and Texan University.

Qiusi Lu – Graduated from Rice University, USA ( from Beijing, China)

“With his rich work experience and professional knowledge, Principal Bin can tailor a suitable American university application plan for each student. Several years ago, I came to the private Collige School as an exchange student to study for a year. Within a few months after arriving in the United States, I decided to apply to an American university for further studies in the future. At that time, Principal Bin gave me great support and help from beginning to end, including a detailed introduction to the American university system, how to choose a suitable school, and step-by-step guidance in the application process. Without Principal Bin’s careful assistance in the past, I would not have achieved what I have today. Thank you, Principal Bin!”
